Chiropractic Care, Massage Therapy
Neuromuscular efficiency and control is where the Central Nervous System coordinates all muscular contractions with the proper force and tension to produce movement. Daily movements utilize global muscular patterns in perfect synchronization in all three planes of motion. However, when there are muscle imbalances, movement compensations, postural distortions, and global muscular alterations in functional efficiency, daily performance will be less than optimal and the percentages of potential injury will increase.
My version of Chiropractic care involves analyzing the spine for dysfunctional areas, increased muscle tension, and decreased spinal motion. Through a variety of adjusting techniques, the goal is to re-introduce motion to the spine, reduce muscle tension, restore extremity range of motion, and to perform mobility corrective exercises. Since there is a muscular component involved in these dysfunctional areas, my approach also involves some level of muscle trigger point therapy, either manual or instrument assisted. The ultimate goal is to balance global neuromuscular coordination and function so daily living activities can be performed at optimal performance level.
Movement is life. To move better it requires correct movement and moving the joints in all ranges of motion. Joint exercises are paramount to improving movement ability and to feeling better.
Kinesiotape, Cupping, Voo-Doo Bands, Foam Rolling, Trigger Point Soft Tissue Therapy, Blood Flow Restriction, Ultrasound, Laser, Muscle Stim
All of these "therapies" are designed to address soft tissue and/or joint issues. Joints can only move when muscles contract to move them. Sometimes it's muscle tension that limits joint ROM and sometimes it's altered joint motion that limits full muscular contraction. And it could also be a little of both. It is important to release the involved muscle(s) trigger points and to mobilize the spinal structures to improve joint mobility.
Chiropractic care and "Life" are a natural mix. Sometimes, daily living activities are like playing a sport. The skeletal and muscle systems can be placed under great strain during some lifestyle events. It is important to possess adequate neuromuscular control, minimal spinal tension, proper muscle balance for quality movement.
